In the historical city center of Tirano, the restaurant “Trattoria Valtellinese” offers delicious dishes to rediscover the taste of Valtellina’s old cuisine.
The friendly owners, Walter and Diego, personally take care of the cuisine and offer guests, both at lunch and dinner, delicious typical appetizers, chiscioi (buckwheat pancakes), sciatt (buckwheat balls stuffed with cheese), among the first courses: pizzoccheri (buckwheat noodles), manfrigole (crepes sliced) with bitto ( Casera cheese from Valtellina) and bresaola (air-dried salted beef) and tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms.
In October and in November are served game dishes.
The specialities of the house are cut meat and mixed grills and finally delicious homemade desserts. Furthermore, guests can taste the excellent wines from Valtellina.
Very close to Palazzo Salis (XVII), where guided tours are held throughout the year and to St. Martin church, the restaurant “Trattoria Valtellinese” is open every day except Sunday.
